Principal's message

 

Dear Families, Students, and Community,

I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings to each of you as we embark on the 2024-25 academic year at the Future Bilingual School Special Needs Department (FBSSN). It is an honor to open our doors to a new school year of learning, growth, and joyful discovery. FBSSN was established in September 2018 as a standalone entity and is part of the Future Bilingual School (FBS) family. We are proud that our department is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS).

In today's world, it is essential that children with special needs have the right to the highest quality education and equal learning opportunities, enabling them to find their rightful places in society. Our department prides itself on providing a high-quality blend of education and support services within an integrated curriculum, set in a supportive, lively, and stimulating environment where each student’s unique strengths and needs are recognized, valued, and fostered to help them grow as successful learners.

We promote a holistic approach to education, focusing on the full development of our students, including academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. Cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development are interrelated, each playing a vital role in our learning practices. We provide a child-centered American bilingual curriculum, enhanced with Arabic and Islamic Studies, tailored to meet the individual educational needs of each student.

FBSSN offers differentiated learning experiences to address the diverse needs of students at every level. Learning is enriched by creative and interactive approaches, which we believe foster curiosity, confidence, and capability in each child. Through a comprehensive program in a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere, each student has the opportunity to grow into a curious, confident, and capable learner.

We continue to emphasize social responsibility, active global citizenship, and respect for diversity through participation in various cultural and international activities. We aim to develop our students’ capacity to become productive and ethical citizens, both within Kuwait and in the wider world community.

Integrating our special needs students into regular schools is also a priority, fostering an inclusive environment where they can thrive alongside their peers. Our Multidisciplinary Support Services team, which includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Sensory Integration, Conductive Education (CE), and Psychology, collaborates with educators to support students’ diverse needs. Each discipline delivers quality care that enhances our students' quality of life.

As a dedicated team of professionals, we are committed to providing high-quality education and optimal learning conditions to help our students reach their full potential. Being a Special Educator is physically, intellectually, and emotionally demanding, but the greatest reward is transforming our students' lives. Our passion lies in the unique teaching methods we employ—empowering students to gain confidence, foster independence, and learn how to navigate their everyday lives successfully. We believe that educators who choose to work with special needs students and who are passionate about reshaping and improving lives are those who succeed. We are proud of our profession, and the growth of our students is always our top priority.

We believe that education is a lifelong journey, one that flourishes through collaboration. We are grateful to partner with families to support our students' development, and I look forward to a productive partnership with each of you. Together, we can make the journey of special education a remarkable experience, one that prepares your children to take positive and active roles in society. We aim for our students to feel that their school is a second home, where they are welcomed, valued, and respected. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education.

I am incredibly proud of our students and their accomplishments. I am thankful for the trusting relationships we share with parents, teachers, stakeholders, and supporters, and I am confident that, together, we can make a difference for all students. I am committed to ensuring that their experience at FBSSN will be influential, impactful, and memorable, paving the way for a lifelong love of learning.
